Default Tailga

Hi,Have just purchased a 2021 Diesel xls outlander which is Awsome.What I won’t to know is it possible to install one of the older Tailgates that had the Flap-Fold Tailgates Or has the size and shape of the back been changed?

I think you will find that they are completely different body panels. Yes if you have some skills with panel beating you could possibly fit the old style tailgate and rear door but I think it would require cutting the rear of the car off and even then there little actual chance that the panels would be the same sizes. If you don't have the tailgate then either find an older Outie that has or learn to live with what you got. Mitsi dropped the tailgates for a reason Sorry

Thanks for that,Have come to realise they are entirely different.
Will learn to live with different Tailgate.Still very pleased with what I have and will do workarounds for not having tailgate.

my 2007 was rear ended in traffic by a guy doing about 25 mph, the damage did not appear extreme, but he repair too almost 7 weeks and the third row seat never would stow away correctly and I just covered the area with a rug for the rest of my ownership, I imagine it's much easier to have a bumper beam under there that doesn't articulate

Thanks For that.It has gone into the to hard basket and I am quite happy with what I have worked out in the back now.
Now realise that the backs are entirely different.
