Default Tailgate Protector

I had the protection package included in the deal when I bought my '11 XLS recently. I received the parts (mud flaps, scuff plates, and rear bumper scuff plate) from the dealer and installed them myself. The only remaining piece I have to install is the "tailgate protector". Its an adhesive sticker-like strip that runs along the bottom edge of the rear hatch and looks like this:

I haven't installed it yet because I'm not sure that I like how it looks. Does anyone have one installed on their Outlander that can post a pic? I'm interested to see what it looks like "in real life" before I install it.

karmann, i am exactly like you, i still have the protector and have not installed yet.....go to your local dealer's show room, you definetly will see one with it on, that's where i saw it, depends on the color of the Outie, it varies the effect on how it looks.....

for me, i don't quite like the look from what i saw in the show room, but i haven't seen one on my outie's color yet.....good luck

I have one on my new 11. Mine and every other one at the dealer had areas where it was lifting. Dealer is going to replace ours. I would suggest starting in the middle workign outwards. Where it's lifting you can push it down but it pops back up. I know after one winter it would be a mess and all those spots where it lifts would be full of trapped dirt.
