Is there a transfer case oil in 4wd?
yes there is. check out the service manual for the location. but there is a fill hole and a drain hole. take the fill hole out first (so you know it can come out...you don't want to drain with no way to fill it back up!), then drain the fluid into a pan. the drain plug is magnetized, so clean it off and put it back in. Refilling the transfercase is a bit difficult, but I used an oil can pump that was cleaned out well. I used Mobile1 75w90 in my tcase and rear differential.
my oil can pump looked a lot like this:

I doubt that the oil was completely depleted and needed to be changed at 30k kms, but I figured it would be better to be safe and I felt like tinkering, so I swapped the rear differential and the transfer case fluids to a high quality synthetic. Now I can be sure they are good for a looooong time. Preventative maintenance and my own need to play. I will do a drain/refill of the transmission fluid around 50k kms and probably every 50k after that as well.
there is a sticky for the manual...the 07+ north american is linked 2nd or 3rd page from the last...has just about anything you want to do to the car.
ideally, this is really easy...the rear diff is a bit difficult to get to. get an oil can like above and it makes it a ton easier.

Would doing that yourself at a different interval than stated in the manual void any warranty? Or do you have to change it again at the started interval in the manual?
