Default torque converter

I have a faulty torque converter. The fluid was not properly changed and fins might be damaged. The dealership is quoting me 1300 canadian....which seems like a major job.....does this seem right? Does the diagnosis seem right....?

thanks

Yes the transmission has to come out which is a lot of labor and the part is not cheap either.

If your torque convertor is crapping out on your there is no magic in a bottle to fix it. Its not like buying a can of fuel injector cleaner. Pull the tranny and replace it before you get left on the side of the road.

Well you cant blame it on the outlander and take it as a bad car. The previoius owner neglected it and you should be pissed at him.

Ya, I agree with antlip. Its probably not the cars fault, but the previous owners. This doesnt happen verry often with vehicles that are takin care of.

Well fellas, I've been driving her for the last two months.....and here is what i figured out....it will cost me at least 2 grand to get the tranny dismantled and fixed.....no dice....

Second the car rev's high....so one day i sliped it in spottronic shift and the number on the dash pulled up as in 4th gear! As soon as i poped it down to third gear the rev's and shaking go away......then i put it in automatic drive again and off i go.....

im not sure if this is any good to the car....but it tells me the trany is going into a 4th gear when only going 50 - 70 km's.

Cant be good.
