Default Towing trailer with RVR?

Anyone tow a trailer with an RVR? I realize the manual says no trailer towing. How about a light one? under 1000 pounds maybe? It would be kind of nice to tow my lightweight utility trailer with a couple of kayaks or maybe a couple of bikes. Then perhaps I could leave the old minivan parked more often.

CVT transmissions generally don't tow. A small trailer should be fine, but if your dealer ever inquires about the hitch/reciever make sure there is no ball on there and tell them it is strictly used for a bike rack. Otherwise yes, a jetski/wave runner, lawn mower/ATV, or some bikes or kayaks should be fine. Just take it nice and easy on that little baby 4 banger and glass transmission.

I don't see why you can't with the manual transmission version...the CVT you can't really for the above stated reason.

What kind of trailer hitch/part/system did you buy to actually attach your trailer to your RVR?? I'm getting confused reading through all these specs.....I'm trying to determine if it's possible to attach a small cargo trailer (i.e. small u-haul trailer) in order to move a couch.....I have a 2012 RVR, the GT model with CVT & Manual-Mode paddle shifters. Any help greatly appreciated!

The most common one is the Curt Class III hitch. You can get it on Amazon for under $150 USD. It bolts in very easily, and I've towed my waverunner with it and use it for my bike rack.

You should be just fine pulling a couch, just remember that you have a CVT, which you should be gentle on. Accelerate slowly is key.
