Default Which Transmission does my 2012 Outlander Have?

Hello All,

I have a 2012 Outlander SE which I just bought used. I understand the car came with a choice pf a CVT or 6 Speed automatic in the US. My car has the paddle shifters and i'm guessing that means I have the 6 speed?

Not trying to sound stupid here but just trying to clarify.

Any opinions as to the performance or problems associated with either?

Thanks,

The 3.0L got the 6 speed auto. The 2.4L got the CVT transmission. Those were your choices.

My 2012 Sport came with a 2.0 liter engine and CVT transmission with sport shifter and paddles as well. It also has 6 'gears' which don't make too much sense.

They are 6 preprogrammed gear ratios the box is forced into to give you engine braking if you require it, such as when towing or going down hill without overspeeding
