Transmission fluid alternative for the diaqueen j3 yet?
I already bought Amsoil ATF multivehicle because on their website it claim as a substitute for ATF J2. When Amsoil arf arrived the back print on the bottle no longer shows it is compatible with atf j2 but still showing Diamond SP ll and SP lll. Is it safe to use on my outlander with v6 engine?
I had schedule my 2007 outlander for aft change next week and the country were I live at no longer sell Dia Queen ATF J2.

AMSOIL Signature Series Multi-Vehicle Synthetic Automatic Transmission Fluid
"Mitsubishi SP-II and SP-III, Dia Queen ATF-J2"
AMSOIL Signature Series Multi-Vehicle Synthetic Automatic Transmission Fluid
"Mitsubishi SP-II and SP-III, Dia Queen ATF-J2"
"Mitsubishi SP-II and SP-III, Dia Queen ATF-J2"
As mentioned, I already read that at Amsoil site but when the actual product arrived the printing at the back of the bottle no longer specifies Dia Queen ATF-J2. Only Mitsubishi SP-ll and SP-lll
I already contacted local support and awaiting feedback if there has been changes on the product.
Just my 02 cents....I think if the vehicle is still under warranty (160,000 KM here in Canada) it makes sense to use the Mitsubishi O/E fluid...the dealer puts it in..they have the record of it..and they take ownership of the service...no headaches if something goes wrong. After the warranty period I suppose you can use whatever you think is suitable. I just did my 48,000 KM service that included the Transmission fluid.
so, if these manufacturers are making a product that spans multiple transmissions could you add J4 to a S AWC tranny that requires J3, if that is all you can get your hands on?

J2 superceded J1
J3 superceded J2
Haven't heard of J4 yet.
J4 is specifically for cvts, but aren't those a form of "automatic" transmission? Didn't honda start out with atf in all their cvts, untill they ran into problems? of course, I have tried to pull up a data sheet for the J4, to compare, but no luck.
when using the Jx references, you really need to type out the full name of the fluid.
for traditional automatics, there are ATF-J1/J2/J3. CVT fluids are CVTF-J1/J4. ATF-J1 is not the same as CVTF-J1. All OEM tranny fluids are made by DiaQueen.
never owned a honda, never paid attention to them.

I am not a trans person by any means but came across this (trying so hard not pay $16 a quart for J3):
AISIN ATF-MSVSuperS®SyntheticDexron® VI ATF which claims it can replace
Mitsubishi Diaqueen J3.
See http://www.smittysinc.net/userfiles/..._DEXRON_VI.pdf
Could a real trans person comment?
