Default TSB Update

For the relays that have been being "replaced" in canada due to failing in cold weather with a condensation build up.

I went into the dealership today to have my block heater installed and I was talking to the manager there. He told me that the TSB about the relays has been halted. They are no longer changing the relays out right away. The dealerships have to send in forms to the head office guys and they send back relays as they are needed. I guess some people were abusing this and just changing them without having them fail.

Now the reason you have to send in to head office is, that each time you send in they are sending out a different trial version of the relay. The one that they have been sending out originally, has been failing. So they dont really know what else to do other then experiment.

So if you have this done as of now, know that the relays you are getting, might not work either. Its luck of the draw at this point.

Just wanted to update on this issue as it has become a hot topic for canadian owners.

Boy am I glad that I don't live in the colder parts of Canada where you need block heaters. I've never heard of someone plugging in their car here in Vancouver!
