Default Didn't work

Hi everyone,
Just wondering what could be wrong. I retrofitted '07 Outlander LS with 2013 Outlander cluster and it displays same red color as the original! Screen is bigger, text of notifications looks different but it does not show multi color display. Seems like the signal from a computer rules the display. Any thoughts? Thanks!

I did this mod on my 2007 using a 2012 cluster. It was in fact plug and play. If you have an older model w/out S-AWD you will want to make sure that your donor vehicle does not have S-AWD because I believe it is a different cluster set up.

Also, my Outlander had 60k on it and the donor vehicle had 65k, so decided to put the old one back in for another 5k miles to ensure that the mileage is correct. Mileage is housed in the cluster, not in your vehicle.

Here are some pics:

OK. Thanks! I think it's impossible to know much about a donor vehicle. The clusters are usually taken off and woiting on shelves. In my case even miledge was wrong - double of advertised one. Nobody is going to know anything about S-AWD feature.
You cluster looks awesome, btw!

Are you sure yours is a color display??

1. What's the part number of the display??
2. Is the speedometer on the left side or right side?
3. Are the trouble lights recessed(sunken) into the display, or flush with the LCD??

The color screen has a ridge above it, the trouble lights are sunken into the display a little:

The red screen has no ridge above it, the trouble lights are flush:

The reason why i waited so long to do it was because i needed to change the mileage on the new display to match my old one, which is the hardest part of doing this swap. Other than that, it's fully plug and play.

Just double checked what I've got and it is a color one. See images attached.

Yea, but that's from a european lancer. Maybe they went with monochrome red lcd due to a lower volume production run of gauges in KM/H??? Apparently, it doesn't follow the american outlander standard.

Here in Canada that's what we use - KM/H. How do you know it's from a Lancer? I was buying one from 2013 Outlander. Thanks!

When i look up the part numbers, all the links reference to a lancer. The gauge dials don't look like the ones from a color version. Perhaps they made one special for the smaller canadian market, but used a cheaper red one.
