Upgraded tires on OEM 16" LS Wheels (2007)
I got the 215/70R16s taken off today with 5,000 Miles. I didnt like the Yokohama Geolander G033s that came stock.
They were small and skinny (although very light/gas savers)and felt a little "unsure" at high speeds.
I put on 235/65R16 Goodyear Fortera TripleTread (light truck/SUV class) http://www.tirerack.com/tires/tires....era+TripleTred
These tires in my opinion are some of the best tires available. They arent overly expensive but are High-End, I have them on 2 different vehicles now btw.
They are "Trail Rated" so-to-say and look SICK! 600 Treadwear and Traction A.. hard to beat. They feel great and look 100x better/bigger/MEATIER
Can take a pic if anyone is interested?

Aren't these tires 'snow rated' as well? Very rare for an all season tire.
Hopefully, some variety in tires will come out by the time I need to replace the Goodyear LS2s (they suck in the snow)

The stock 16" LS rims are a 6.5" width, which is suitable for most 235mm width tires. (check the individual tire spec)
Above 235 or 245will be bubbley on the rim and potentially dangerous.
225/70 would be a little wider and a little taller
235/65 is nearly 1" wider and barely taller<------------My recommendation
245/65 or 245/60 are not recommended for OEM rims.

Your choice is about 0.1" larger outside diameter. If anything it will make the speedo a bit more accurate. And they are snow rated, "mountain snow flake" icon. This should make these tires very populare here in Quebec, since snow rated tires will be mandatory starting next winter.

Why didyou not get the tyre shop to fit stick on balancing weights in the middle rim for you? clip on weights may mark the alloys when removed

I am more of a "function over form" kindaguy and agreed.
