Upgraded tires on OEM 16" LS Wheels (2007)

RE: Upgraded tires on OEM 16" LS Wheels (2007)
Nice street treads - I went the other way though, got offroad rubber. This made all the difference on the rough stuff!
Makes the little beast look a lot tougher on the street too. These last around 80-85000Kms too, so are worth the extra dollars.
They are slightly larger in diameter - being 215/70xR16's, as opposed to the original 215/60R16's.

I got the 215/70R16s taken off today with 5,000 Miles. I didnt like the Yokohama Geolander G033s that came stock.
They were small and skinny (although very light/gas savers)and felt a little "unsure" at high speeds.
I put on 235/65R16 Goodyear Fortera TripleTread (light truck/SUV class) http://www.tirerack.com/tires/tires....era+TripleTred
These tires in my opinion are some of the best tires available. They arent overly expensive but are High-End, I have them on 2 different vehicles now btw.
They are "Trail Rated" so-to-say and look SICK! 600 Treadwear and Traction A.. hard to beat. They feel great and look 100x better/bigger/MEATIER
Can take a pic if anyone is interested?

I guess I have opened up a rather old thread but I am also at a crosspoint where I am looking for good replacement tires for OEM Yokohama Geolander 16". I have about 23000 miles but I see that the thread is very close to 3/32 in which means its time for a replacement. Are you happy with Goodyear Fortera TripleTread over the course of the years? How is the road noise and MPG compared to stock tires? Does anyone else have recommendations as to the replacement of OEM Yokohama Geolanders? Basically price is not so much of an object as I like to invest in rather good tires but I am looking for overall performance in summer/rain/snow + road noise and MPGs? Any help would be greatly appreciated.
edit: is there any wiggle room or they have to be the stock oem size, cuz that would broaden the choice of tires alot.

these are my recommendations for tire selection:
- keep weight down
- stay with passenger rated tires
- look for LRR (low rolling resistance)
look around at tirerack.com for some research....they usually have reviews and specs of all tires.
