Has anyone with a v6 had the auto transmission filter changed? Mine is due for a transmission fluid change at the next service (90k km) and I asked the service department about changing the filter. Their response was the service only calls for fluid so that is all that gets done.

I am planning to keep this vehicle for some time so I am trying to ensure it will last by at least checking the filter. The service manual I have shows a filter screen below and possibly behind the valve body. In that case it may not be easy to access. Does anybody know for sure how accessable it is and what condition it was in was in when inspected / changed?

 

There is no transmission filter for this vehicle. There is only a screen at the end of the fill tube, which i think can be accessed from a door on the transmission.
