absolutely would like to see this.
FOG lights standard in everything but base model would be nice too. the only reason i say this is because it was impossible to find an XLS when I was in the market and every other model did not have them in it. i was disappointed. but i plan to put some inside the vehicle probably in the summertime.

@tcp:it will happen, but the question is when. 2010 is a good bet. Mitsubishi is hard at work with the diesel engine, and when they bring a diesel engine here in the US, it will be made by Mitsubishi, not Peugeot or VW like in Europe.

Better they use VW diesel engine. They've near perfected it (Dakar 09!!). I wouldn't buy first generation mitsu diesel engine, I wouldnt take one for free. But offer VW and I'm sold!!

It might be hard to get a Mitsubishi diesel in North America, ever since they changed the emission standards in 2007-2008, Even VW stopped selling diesels for a couple of years they only recently restarted, Since VW already had a sizable diesel sales base it was worth it for them to make the development investment. Even the SMART had a diesel before the change and they are all Gas (Petrol) now. As far as I can see Mercedes, who has always been big on diesel, only has 1 diesel engine offering these days.
If we ever get a Mitsubishi with a Diesel in it, it might very well be a VW engine, simply because they already have engine that meet the emission standards. I'm not sure what other areas of the world are doing about diesel emission standards, if they join North America, that might change everything.

I would be very happy with the 2.2DID Turbo / 6speed manual that they get in europe. If that is a VW engine, even better.

1. I want projector headlights.
2. DRL on high beam.
3. Better plastic in the dash.
4. Able to turn off the TPMS system

- dual climate control
- more power (at least more torque); if even chevy is using 3.6L Mitsu needs to step-up.
- a real locking 4wd option (either 40f/60r or 50/50)
- bluetooth that can access your phone's contact list
- full rear led lighting rather than just the dimpled plastic
- side sill garnishes for all markets (at least on the highest trim)
- scuff plates should be included rather than optional on the highest trim
- cloth/leather skirt under the rear of the 2nd row seats so it doesn't look so unfinished
- usable 3rd row seats or easily removable if you don't want to use them
- blue interior lighting rather than red (blue = cool; red = pontiac)
- lockable cross bars that are flush with the rails and a wind deflector that does not interfere with sunroof operation
- sunroof with built-in/retractable wind deflector
- tpms off-switch for winter tire users
- fog lights in the rear (or at least make the some of the rear led lights part of this) - highly annoying that no manufacturer does this
- delete rain sensing wipers!
- please no full size spare tire on the outside like the CRV or RAV4 - highly annoying for the rear view
- if leaving the paddle shifters, they should be locked out when transmission is in 'D'. Annoying when they are activated accidently (but I would rather have all or some of the above than paddle-shifters - shifting with the lever is good enough)

I planned to get a 2009 or 2010 XLS. I try it and I really like the 3.0 liters. It is very efficient with that 6 speeds transmission and also economic. On the cruise control at 100 km/h after 20 minutes of driving, the onboard computer show me 7.5 liters of gaz per 100 km. Very very efficient and when we need power the transmission is there to give just enough power to get out of some jams. I like the palets on the steering, the elaps time of the shifts are perfect. KEEP THAT V6 ENGINE, PERFECT !!!

As a resident of Montreal, we have strong winters here. It's why I would like some features to enhance the pleasure of driving in these situations.

INTERIOR:
- all aluminum trim should be replace by some kind of Graphite look (aluminium trim is outdated)

- A switch to cancel the TPMS (here we have a law which is from December 15th to March 15th we have to put 4 winter tires, so we buy basic rims and but winter tires on it. This law will change in 2010 to start November 15th instead of December 15th)

- Just a few inches longer for the base of the front seats

- Change the place where the switches for the heated front seats, it's should be put around the stick shift, more easily visible

- Remove (on the V6) that 3rd row seats, and put the same facility than the 4 cyl., a underneath space to put stuff (winshield washer liquid, etc..)

- Put a Homelink in the interior roof with the V6 XLS version

- The gauges for gas and temperature should not be digital but analog, in order to keep the other information displays and without having manipulate the INFO push button to get the status of the gas en temperature info.

- If the all the models doesn't have an indicator for the level of the windshield washer liquid indicator, it's a must.

- A separate switch for the heating of the side mirrors, the back window defrost and the windshield defrost (if you had that feature) is necessary in order to not make one or the other defrost working for nothing. A time delay is fine. The delay should be made according to the efficienty of the heaters components.

- The sunvisors should be review. On the XLS, mirror and lamp should added to both sides, and also extended part of it should be retractable for the side sunshine. Like the Suzuki Grand Vitara. VERY USEFULL

EXTERIOR:

- All models should have a front defrost at the bottom of the windshield in order to melt the ice for the wipers in a snow storm. This feature start with all Subarus models and now Toyota with the Rav4 and the Venza have it. VERY VERY USEFUL.

- Ilike the new grill for 2010, it's a brand design, exactly like Audi and VW, but that is a mather of taste.

OTHERS:

- In order for Mitsubishi to reach their goal, being the first in the world, they should put a special attention to the quality of the electronic, the quality of the circuits of the all the components, specially with the navi. I'm not saying that Mitshubishi have problems with that, but believe me it could be a cause for consumers to quit Mitsubishi. When your ingeneers design a central bloc of information that control more than one facilities. My 2003 Accord V6 EXL has a central bloc of control and information for the radio and the heating....and guess what they had majors problems with that over a lot of these models. Electronics are good but puting all the eggs in the same basket is not a solution when you don't put proper quality of circuits and built.

- Keep that selector for 2WD of 4WD, because it's usefull to chose manually if we want to be on 2WD or not. I don't like automatic 4WD SUV with no possibilities of selection. The OUTLANDER is one of the rare SUV having that possibility.

- Be very careful by thinking of making available Diesel engines. I have a 2006 Jetta TDI and believe me it's not made for winters. The heating inside is not efficient, specially under -8 degres Celcius. The engine must always have at least 2500 RPM in order to get the inside warm. In a traffic jam it worth noting. And the new VW 2 liters TDI, with more horse power, IS EXACTLY THE SAME. THESE CARS ARE NOT MADE FOR WINTERS, KEEP IT IN EUROPE OR IN THE USA WHERE IS HOT WHEATER.

Waiting for the 2010 !!!

Franky
