Default Where can I get A/M Springs?

I work at a Mitsu dealer and we have a broken spring. Because of the flood in Japan the part is back ordered and won't be available until mid April at the earliest. After calling to local after market shops the only springs I found were lowering springs.

Does any one know where I can find OEM style springs?

one of the vendor sponsors supposedly has springs: colt-speed

they are a bit pricey, but better than april if they have them in stock.

just curious...how'd the spring break??

It seems to be a generic problem. This is the 3rd Outlander in the last year to break a front spring at our dealership alone. I don't remember if they were all '07's or if one was an '08.

Being front springs, it has nothing to do with towing or loading and I wouldn't be surprised to see a service bulletin come out over this.

Can you tell me about these lowering springs? Who makes them and where can I get some? I'm on the west coast in Vancouver.

I'd like to know if stiffer aftermarket shocks are available, more so than lowering springs.

Wink re broken springs

When my front spring broke last November my dealer put it down to the very cold weather which was present over here at that time.
I found that hard to believe then but after having spoken to other persons in the motor trade I was told the cold weather was quite a common cause for spring failure?
I still can't believe it though because I'm sure that when I served my time as an apprentice motor techie 50 yrs ago we seemed to have had colder winters then and I can never recall a spring failure then. Perhaps my memory is failing LOL ?????

I'm not sure who makes the springs. I called three performance shops in the area and they told me that thats all they could get (if anything at all). I didn't go any further because I need stock height springs.

The breaking springs can't be just cold weather. The only vehicles we have coming in with broken springs is currant gen Outies. It never gets that cold in Halifax any way.
