Winch and lift ???

Same Question
I have the same question. A lift would be tough, but I would like to mount a winch on my Outie. I'm not looking to go rockcrawling or anything, but I'm planning a trip around the entire coast(s) of Mexico and it would be nice to be able to winch myself out of the sand and so on.

(B) There are no hard points like there are on truck based SUV's
(C) Trade the outlander in on a truck based SUV if you want a winch and lift!
(D) Let the tire pressure down to 15psi if you get into the sand.
(E) Have a compressor to fill them back up cause you'll get warning from the computer about low tire pressure! That and it is completely unsafe to drive on paved roads with that low of psi.

Airing down and carrying a compressor are no-brainers. And as far as mounting a winch to a non-framed or truck-based vehicle, I have built several Jeep Cherokees which are unibody vehicles without frames. While I wouldn't pretend to imagine that the Mitsu could manage all the same mods a Jeep could, the principle is the same. When dealing with a unibody, there are ways to securely mount things like bumpers and such.
I really think the Outlander has some good potential as a mild expeditionary vehicle that can manage basic wheeling--snow, sand and dirt.
