window tint problem
For those who had this problem, what kind of felt material was installed on the rubber strip? How thick and wide is this felt strip? I brought mine back to the dealer. They replaced the tint and supposedly fixed the problem under warranty. Everything was ok for about 3 weeks and now the scratches are back! [:@]

Thats some buuuuuuuuull**** right there. Hmmmm it shouldnt be abrasive at all. I dont doubt what your saying at all... just trying to think of another solution.
Is it possible the tint is just a low quality tint?
By the way.. when cleaning your windows make sure you use a window cleaner without amonia. It will say on the bottle "safe for tinted windows" Using the amonia stuff is what gives you the ghetto purple windows : )

The tint was made by 3M:

Only the front door tints are affected. The scratches are vertical straight lines. Dealer told me they've had other Outlander units with this problem and that the rubber strip is held too tight against the window. So they told me they fixed it by loosening up a bit. No felt was installed. I've read in past threads that felt strips solved the problem. What type of felt strips are these so I can forward it to my dealer.

Oh, not cheap then. 3M isnt likely to sell low quality stuff
I really have no idea. Im guessing some kind of synthetic material with the reverse side adhesive so you can stick it to the rubber strip. The dealer should know this sh it.
What i find, is you get contrasting storys from different dealerships. I would try another.. and see if they have anything available that can help you.

I had the same problem but the shop replaced the tint and installed the felt material. I'm not sure how thick it is but it's adhesive on one side. You have to take the door panels off and remove the liner. Once it's removed you just wrap the felt over the edge of the liner. I would suggest clamping it down and let set for awhile before reinstalling it.
