Won't go past 2000 rpm when in 25 degree steep hill
Hello, I am a new driver of a 2019 Outlander 2.4L SAWC CVT. Yesterday, I drove it to an extremely steep 25-degree slope. The gear selector was put in L and the Lock mode is selected in the SAWC selector. However, for some reason, the car only maintained 2000 rpm even though I keep my feet on the floor. This caused the vehicle to almost come to a stop on the steep slope (Video 0:35). So, I turned off traction control and still keep my feet on way the way on the accelerator. Although it helps by revving to around 2200 rpm, it still pulls the car up the slope rather slowly. May I know if it is normal? I was expecting it to be able to rev much higher like to 4000, 5000 rpm, especially with traction control turned off. FYI, the car does not show any warnings nor drives strangely afterwards.
By the way, I can smell something bad when my dad went up the same slope and I was filming next to the car. May I know if it is just tire burn smell, or the clutch pack (I guess there is one?) is burning? I am quite worried that it's the AWD system having problems as I only drove FWD cars before.
Much thanks.
