a lot of people joke, if the aftermarket has a product that adds horsepower, why wouldn't the manufacturer use it and exploit the power gain.
K&N had a deal with Honda a while back and were giving them with their cars. (not sure if they still are)

Also, if you buy a specific product for your vehicle, K&N supply the dyno sheet showing the gains.

Performance wise.....probably not as much as you would hope for but you'll probably recoup your investment compared to oem replacement filter after 2 years depending on your driving conditions. Remember that it's an additional $10 bucks for the cleaning kit.
I have had my K&N cleaning kit for almost 10 years now, and it's still kicking.

Good 4 you. The sprayer on my cleaner stopped pumping after a few sprays. Had to buy plastic sprayer at a 99 cent store.
