I have a 2006 Raider Durocross 4.7l-90k moles. Ive owned the truck since 2013 and have had the problem since the beginning just as time went on, it’s progressed. While driving, the little red transmission light will come on and make the transmission act erratic. I’ve taken it to several shops and they all tell me there is nothing wrong with the truck and send me on my way. A few times, I’ll be sitting at a red light and lose all power completely and when you get ready to accelerate, it will go, but catches speed VERY slowly and sluggish. I’ve just recently had the transmission rebuilt thinking maybe it was something internal but no, nothing. Same problems exist. Any ideas what could be wrong???

I had a similar problem. I bought a refurbished PCM on ebay and my truck ran like new.

a few years back I had a similar problem where my 08 3.7 wouldn’t shift out of first gear. It turned out to be a bad transmission relay in the fuse box.
