2005 Outlander LS- Barrie, Ontario, Canada
Hi- thought I'd make use of the introduction forum. I've been a lurker here for a while and figured it was about time to join.
I picked up my first Mitusbishi last September. It had about 90000km on it and was in really nice condition. A very small amount of rust on the rear passenger wheel well fender. I'll take care of that soon. But otherwise, quite nice.
I was happy with how it ran. It's 2WD, so that's great for my stupid long commutes. I get a consistant 10 liters per 100km of combined highway/ city driving. I'd say 80% of it's use is highway (though stop and go- stupid GTA commute).
Some jerk did however back into the front driver's quarter 3 weeks ago. I walked into the bank- came out 3 minutes later- the fresh tracks in the snow showed the pick up that backed into it. I was pretty pissed. I didn't even own it for more than 6 months. And to top it off, my car cam had a corrupted file so I didn't get the plates!
It's not horrible damage. I can pull it out and buff out the scruffs, but it did crack part of the plastic rocker cover.
Anyway. Spring is coming and I'm planning on replacing the ignition spark plug wires and spark plugs. Time for an oil change and rad fluid and trans fluid inspection. Check my brakes and maybe upgrade the pads.
I'll get under the car and take car of any active corrosion and then seal with a durable farm rust paint.
And clean the interiour. Winter was brutal this year and it needs one hell of a cleaning- hell- the whole car.
One thing I would like to change on it is the instrument cluster light. I HATE white lights. They destroy my night vision. I've wanted to put a filter over the bulbs to make them red or green. Has anyone else tried this?
I'd also love to find a bug deflector. Heck, even some bush bars on the front and back for the next jerk that backs into me.
Ivan

Welcome to the forum. One other thing to consider for the dash lights is coverting them to LED, color of your choice. Not familiar with the particulars of your vehicle, but I've done a few in the past. Pull the cluster out and swap the bulbs. Pretty easy job , depending on how hard it is to access the cluster on your vehicle. You can go to superbrightleds and put in your vehicle info and it will tell you what size bulbs to get.
