Need some help. I got a call saying there was a recall on my car. Bought it in to be checked and do the usual 60k-75k maintaince on the vehicle. $500 later mind you only $177 in parts the rest in labor and now 2 days later the check engine light comes on and its running ridiculously loud when I accelerate. My husband brings it back to the dealer today to be told its my Catalytic Converter. NOTHING WAS WRONG WITH MY CAR PRIOR TO TAKING IT IN. Now they are saying it is not covered and will cost $1700 to fix. How is this possible.
There was no sign of the converter going bad, no issues prior to this. It has 91K miles and they are saying its not covered cause I am over the 80k or 8 years. Does any of this sound right? Has anyone ever had this issue.
I don't have faith in the de4alership anymore and I am very skeptical about repairing it there.
