2nd Gen eclipse owner killing map sensors! HELP!
OK, so I just purchased a 1995 Mitsubishi eclipse gs 5 speed manual with 210k miles at a reasonable price and it didn't have a cel light when I bought it and did the key check before I bought it and it didn't show fault code ( except end of codes #55). wouldn't pass emissions because of o2 sensor so I replaced it and cleaned out intake. guy said he put a new egr assembly on it and it ran like a champ for like a week after inspection and cel light came on. fault codes that showed up was (at first) 12 32 55so I replaced map sensor as soon as possible. ran it for four days cel light came on again, this time it was codes 12 14 32 32 55. replaced sensors without disconnecting battery this time and cel went off immediately after about 1 mile of driving. did it again with same codes as last time, 12 14 32 32 55. the two questions that I have is why is it chewing up map sensors like candy and why is it displaying two 32 codes if there is only one map sensor. ps - checked the voltage at the map sensor connector with new map sensor with engine off and ignition on and ground has continuity, there is 5 volts and with engine running at idle there is 4.8 volts on third wire. car will only get about 120 miles per tank without map sensor connected. figured this out by driving about 15 miles on full tank and refilled tank up and calculated mileage by gallons used without sensor connected.
