you're right, i was looking at the specs for a 1.5 DE coupe, the ES or LS is heavier. the 1.5 coupe weighs right around 2100lbs, but the ES sedan was closer to 2400-2500. either way, that g64 swap would net you some good power, turboing it would be easy in the sense that kits are readily available and would bolt right up, only problem you might run into is the manifold and turbo extending out too far and rubbing something, not sure though, never looked into this swap too seriously. anyone know if the g64 is a front mount or reverse (header facing the firewall)?

the exhaust manny faces the front of the car. The turbo manifold from ALL DSM Eclipses bolts up and the T25 turbo is small and gives lots of clearance. ALMOST the same measurements as the NA "header" or exhaust manifold is stock. It fits. I have done it (not in a mirage but there is ALWAYS a way to get it in there). The 4G64 motor can be turboed for CHEAP compared to ALL other cars since the parts are ALL OVER THE PLACE.

sweet, if it's foward facing then all you'd have to do is MAYBE remove the A/C, probably would have enough room to keep the power steering, but other than that.......man, now i'm getting ideas for my car. dang it, i can't afford to spend any more money right now!
