I drive Mitsubishi Monetrio and when i shift my A/T gear from Parking to Reverse the car jerks - please advise the reason

 

thanks, i understand the rules. I know that someone out there has had this problem and has (i pray ) the fix.

 

I have a 2003 Diamante ...I am having a problem with my transmission not wanting to start out in 1st gear. It feel's like i am taking off in 3rd or 4th gear. Very slow to pick up speed. The shift light indicator keeps flashing from park to reverse while in park. then it will flash from drive to neutral contentiously when in drive. When I disconnect the battery overnight and start it up , all is working good. I can start out normally. In first gear then second and so on. After a short while it goes back to doing as i mentioned. Sometimes when it is working normally i can be driving at a slower speed 30-40 and it will downshift by itself and the light will start jumping back and forth again. A long wile back, i read something on this forum pertaining to this problem but i have not been able to ever find it again. If anyone can help I would really appreciate it as I have been working in this car off and on for over a year. Yikes! lol. Thanks.
