Asx
Hi. Wasn't sure where to post for ASX problems, so here goes. Hope someone can help.
Firstly, I am in Sydney Australia and so Right-Hand drive.
2018 Mitsubishi ASX.
Wife's car and she complained that for the duration of the terrible rainy weather we've been having, that she has water dripping on her accelerator foot. Sure enough, carpet is damp, and the thicker underlay quite wet underneath. Water on the pedal as well. Above it on the Booster bracket and the wiring loom bracket there are spots of rust.
So first thought as always is to clean out the scuttle - blocked with leaves and such I hoped. Took the wipers off and the plastic scuttle and found it quite clean actually. Impressed it has huge openings at each end and flowed tons of water without a problem. But I left the hose running in there anyway for some 40 minutes with no dripping water inside.
Checked the AC drain - all clear and also the cabin filter which was looking near new and not wet or soggy.
Then left the hose running across the roof and filling the windscreen channels for another 45 minutes but still no dripping.
I have thrown enough water at this car to clean several cars at a car wash with no leaks to be seen. I've laid in the footwell for long periods of running water but cannot get any drips. The bonnet release nor the rear screen water wash hose leak where they go through the firewall. I've even gone under the scuttle and had water on and behind the booster and into the cavity behind the strut tower to no avail.
I've applied pressure hose all around the windscreen across the top and down both sides.
I've soaked the door seal and mirror not really expecting it to get over to above the accelerator pedal, but eliminated those seals anyway.
I was impressed that Mitsubishi don't have any bolts coming through the firewall or scuttle to the interior - the windscreen motor is on brackets or over the engine bay, so I ruled out the rubber washers (as seals) letting water past.
Water flows by the bucket full out from under the fenders when screen and scuttle are hosed.
Has anyone had a similar experience? And found such a leak?

Hi DJ.
No - OEM screen from 2018. Cars travelled about 57,000klms.
Plus I ran the hose flowing over the roof and down over the screen for an hour with no water ingress. Concentrated the hose in the two top corners as well.
Couldn't get any water in the car.
