Default Hello! Looking to buy my first Mits, a 2008 Eclipse Coupe

Hello all.

I'm new to Mitsubishi and am looking to buy my fist one, a 2008 Eclipse Coupe, V6, 6-speed manual. This is a fantastic looking machine and it handles great, it's very comfortable, oh did I mention it looks fantastic?

I'm coming off a nightmare MINI Cooper I've owned for 18 months, nothing but problems with it. It's been in the shop for 5 weeks now while the extended warranty company fights with CarMax (where I bought it) over who's going to pay for a new transmission. It failed in CarMax's shop when they replaced a shift linkage bracket. Anyway, enough of that.

I am really eyeing up this Eclipse Coupe, it's a fantastic looking machine, very sleek, drives and handles great and is very comfortable.

My only concern is reliability, I've never owned one and Mit's past seems a bit less then great but recent reviews have been much better. Car and Driver and Consumer Reports both rate them well.

I owned a 06 Eclipse SE 4 cyl and traded up to the 08 Spyder GT 6cyl. I had no issues with either car just yet. The 4 banger got really good gas mileage compared to the new 6 I have now and it's preminum only! It's a fun car! If you put a couple grand into wheels and lower it, it will turn heads all day!

Good to hear. I'm going to take another test drive this week. If I do get it I doubt I'll do any mods, most likely keep it stock with the 18" wheels.

Of course I willreplace the tireswith some BFG tracktion control TA's. I put a set of those on my MINI and I was damn impressed with those tires.
