Default hello new here and a major electrical prob. ... I THINK!

Ok here is the deal. First my name is Ray. I have a 95 (prod. date mar. 1995) eclipse gs 2.0L NON-TURBO and been a great car. A few MINOR mods and a great daily driver. I have a check engine light on due to an AEM cold air intake. Was on the car when I bout it 8 years ago. Now for the srange part. About a year and a half ago I noticed my fuel pump acting up so I changed it. Still messing up so exchanged for a new one. Now what would happen is if I was driving and the check engine light went OFF the car would DIE(engine kill) and when the check engine light was back on it would run fine. I took it to be looked at to an ELECTRICAL shop in town. They said it was a wire grounding out.and they "fixed" it 2 weeks later the SAME thing goin on.It goes back to them...... now i need a crank sensor, cam sensor an ecm, and they want $500 for labor. Now im pretty mech. inclined after all I DO WORK ON CARS. So i do the sensors and send the comp. out to have it rebuilt and flashed. Still doin the same thing. So now im told that the PIN in the ECM HARNESS 3 up from the bottom in the center(white with a red sripe) is failing and that controlls the fuel pump realy, fuel pump and injectors. SO I was told to get a ECM harness end and soder ALL the wires and that should fix it. So I am looking for a second opinion before I spend a week sodering something like 80-100 wires. Also if ANYONE has encoutered ANYTHING like this. Your help would be tremendous . Thank you in advance.

You should be able to remove the single pin out of the connector using a molex type pin tool, can you post a picture so I have a better idea of what you are looking at?

Thank you for responding so fast DIGITAL!! Attached is the pic of my ECM harness. The pin in question is the #rd row up in the middle! Are these type of pins you were thinking of when you suggested the MOLEX tool???

the link brings me to the log-in page for shutterfly, try uploading it to your images on the forum

I used to have the same car back in the day (eagle talon non turbo 2.0) so the ECM should be the same, so i kind of have and idea of what it looks like

here is a DIY youtube video that might help

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LLKn_5Wqs8g

and a link for a universal molex tool

http://www.xoxide.com/sunbeam-psu-tool-kit.html

radio shack has all the stuff you will need as well, once you remove the pin you will be able to get a new one there

Thank you Digital for all your help. I finally found a harness to replace the wire and di so yesterday. I ran GREAT all day long. Now today is a differant story..... It seems to be smoother and not nessaceraly loosing power to the fuel pump but when coming to a stop with the clutch in and the rpms start to drop they continue to fall and the engine shuts off...... ANY IDEAS????? I really like to hold on to this thing seeing how it is SO much better in gas that my RESTORED 85 full size blazer witch get a whooping 9 miles to the gal. Thank you in advance.
