HEY ALL!!! New Guy Needs Help Identifying 2 Resistors/Capacitors on 93 3000GT ECU
Hello all, I am new to this forum and my Google searches lead me here. My name is Jeremy and I am repairing some bad caps on a 91 Mitsubishi 3000 GT ECU. I started working on this ECU because the notorious caps on these boards went out on me and leaked onto its neighboring components. So I need to replace two resistors/capacitors in these two pics that I found on the internet of my same exact ECU. Mine were corroded beyond repair. The first pic is the reddish brown little rectangle chip with two silver ends and no markings, and has C35in white ink next to it on the circuit board. The second is the one is at the C4 marking on board. It is a small and rectangular but is black with one end marked in silver, and has the markings "j6r" I believe. I have searched all over and even called Digikey and talked to the tech there but he wasn’t much help. So I figured someone out there has to know what these are. There has to be a way of identifying these, even if i cant get the exact same ones maybe there is a substitute that i can use? Any info would be greatly appreciated! I know a little about electronics but there is a point where my knowledge ends. I have asked in a few other places and so far the only thing I have found out is that the first pic is a smd capacitor, the second pic is a smd diode.
Thanks,
Jeremy

Thanks,
Jeremy

Just had a thought, Maybe there is someone on here that has an ECU laying around that matched mine and they could measure the resistance or uf rating and I could buy something with similar values? I also had a SRS computer laying around that I opened up and found one of the reddish brown capacitors like in the pic. Same size and color, and was made by Mitsubishi also so I pretty sure that it would work in place. Maybe not, anyone have a thought on this one?
If I were you, I 'd search for a company on the web that does these repairs, there are a lot of companies.
SMC or surface mount components on pc boards, unless you have done this before, your are risking damaging the board beyone repair.
I know I would not try it, and I usually will try to fix anything but as a wise man once said, "a man's gotta know his limitations" and I know mine.
