Hi All,
I have a 1999 Mitsubishi Galant 1800 Model , Engine model 4G93 with carburetor . The speedometer for this car goes upto 240km/h. However, I noticed that when driving at 80km/h , the car's rpm is slightly above 2000rpm and when I reach 120km/h , it is close to 4000rpm . My fear is if I ever tried to reach a speed of 200km/h , the car might be in the red zone already and that means damaging the engine.
Would you kindly help explain and advise what could be the cause? The fear also is that the 'Higher the rave count , the higher the fuel consumption' and this might mean it is not an ideal car for an ordinary person with low income.
