Default let the fun begin!

Well just thought I'd go ahead and make my first post here. My name's Bobby and I drvie a 95 Eclipse I picked up really cheap ($200) because some guy blew the head gasket and left it sitting in a barn for 2 years. The car is mostly clean but I am really wanting to to MAJOR work to it. Although right now it's being used as a daily driver I plan on pulling it off the road here soon for a complete work up. I plan on converting it to a turbo with awd if I can find all the info and parts I need.just want to say thanks in advance for all the pointers and advise I know I'm going to need for this size of a project.

As you can tell by my name I got aspirations!! lol!!

Bobby

umm if it is an RS or GS you cant swap in the turbo motor you can only turbo charge the motor that is in there. and you cant do AWD conversion to it

Why would you want to do that when just buying a 10 second AWD DSM would actually be cheaper?

Sorry for the rant up above. it's a RS and after reading some of slow420a's sticky's I know now I can still get the ponies I want but I might end up stuck with the fwd deal. I don't wanna fork out that much dough for the conversion. I can get an 2g awd talon for $3g but the body needs more work than mine. Maybe that will be the path I take. Dunno yet though.

or beat to hell. Unless your planning on swapping the motor out of the gsx. Anyway, turbocharging the 420a (GS engine) is not cheap to do. It can cost well over 3k. What kinda WHP are you looking for

well I'm hoping to get as much as I can while still keeping it street legal (is 300-350 to much?). After looking at the talon it looks pretty rough. not worth even picking it up for the parts. I got big ambitions for a car i've wanted to get since I first saw one. I've already have my body parts ordered but I want it to run as aggressive as it's going to look.
putting a 12 piece body kit on it with custom front and rear bumpers.

Bobby

Ps. Don't flame for this but I had 250+ from my neon rt before I sold it. 100hp for $100 from ebay.

not trying to flame you, but you didnt have 250whp on a neon rt for $100. Anyways,

To get over 300hp on that car is gonna cost alot of monet. It would require a complete bottom and top end rebuild including pistons, rods, crank, cams. Then a really good tuning and a good size turbo. Usually the most people will get with a decent turbo kit is about 250whp. Thats it. Truthfully. If i were you id fix the head gasket since it will be pretty cheap. And turn around and sell it to make a profit of the car. Because if you want a fast car its not really gonna be the one you want. just my opinion.

the neon wasn't quite stock when i bought it. lol!anyways I still looking for a project car and it seems likeI got a dog here.Being fairly new to imports i'm still wet behind the ear so to speak. cut my mechanical teeth on small and big block chevy motors. thought it would be good to expand my horizons. where the hell do i go from here??

feeling slow and confused instead of fast and furious..
