Mitsubishi Starion/Dodge Conquest... It was the precursor to DSMs.
Actually it was the percursor to the GTO/3si. They came with the 4g63t in Japan, but was a 12 valve SOHC version the same as some of the early Lancer Rally cars.. The g54b came with a small *** 12a turbo thats even smaller then a t25. You can bolt in a 4g63/4g64, but if you want to use the tranny you have to find a wideblock 4g63 out of a D50 or a Mighty Max.

No they were not!

If you want to get REALLY technical ONLY the 89-95 Eclipses, Lasers, and Talons were DSMs. Galant Vr4s are a close cousin and the 3si's are like the red headed step child.

thanks for clearing that up in words that I can understand... lol
I haven't been what I would consider a "car guy" for too long, and am still trying to learn it all. that visualization certainly does help though

Also, Welcome!

Well guess I'll put my 2.6 cents in now. Dodge, Chrysler, Plymouth Conquest TSi's and Mitsubishi Starions... Twin turbo is rather pointless for these engines. The G54B comes stock witht he 12a turbo. I don't really see a point to TT anything that isn't a V block. They did NOT come with the 4G63 block in the US. The other engine used was a 2.0 but I don't remember which block was used. The Evo turbo CAN be used but it takes a little worh to get it to fit right. It's actually an easier task to merely ship the turbo off to someone like Trilogy Turbos who for about $500 will take your 12a and bore out the exhaust and compressor housing and fit it with a new 16G cartridge. Then you'll be sticking a 16G right on your Starion with no modification (Except that necessary to the fuel system to support the extra airflow).

Any other questions you have feel free to ask.

Well I just know a tad bit more about turbos now and I am thinkin a t3/t4 hybrid. But I do have another question. Would the new GK-T turbo by Turbonetics be compatible?? Please insight as I am only starting to fix up and upgrade my starion.

The Sirius Dash wide block was a 12V. And the US g63b came in pickups. So I am assuming that was the same 2.0 liter that found its way into the none US starions. Which whould make it an 8 valve. So I believe the g63b 8 valve was the standard 2.0 in none US Starions. Don't quote me though.[/align]
