I have a mitsubishi lancer 92, 13700 miles. It has some small rust damage that I want to fix. So I am going to need to do some welding. However, I wonder if I should remove the ECU before welding or not. Since basically the whole chassis will be charged (even so briefly) enough to kill semi conductors. I have never done any welding on cars with ECUs before. And what I know of electronics only gives me the insight that it might be damaged, but that it also should be just fine. Dont want to risk grilling a brand new replacement ECU...
