new guy, old guy, 996 turbo owner, EVO for son
The person on here to talk to about this is gonna be Emonz. He has researched on the evo and know probably the most general knowledge then anyone on here. But most of what sebba has been saying it correct. It is in no way gonna be cheap to do any of this either. Im guessing your looking somewhere in the $15k+ range to acheive close to 700hp.
Thanks guys. If I can get in the 500 neighborhood without cracking her open I'll probably go that route....at least to start...
Hey Sebba....define "High Numbers" These turbos are doing sub 11 quarters and 60-130 times at about 6.5 seconds.Remember, we have two of them!!!! --just bustin' your nuts a little bro...I am with you on clutches. Mine made it two days after mods. On mine the new lwfw is significant. Clutch grabs rather violently now but it has a crap load of clapming force ie about 900 fpds of torque.
I am actually looking forward to this just for the ease of getting to stuff. Next time you are around a Pcar turbo, ask the owner how they are to work on. My clutch job was horrible. You know the ad....."German engineering in da house?" Those guys take pleasure in cramming stuff upon stuff upon stuff. What a nightmare... sparkplugs? oh yeah, just drop the REAR BUMPER, fender liners, cuple turbo oil lines, etc etc. I can't wait to open a HOOD and work on a car for a change!!!!
and the money...well it is all relative. If you were to pay a tuner to get 700 out of a Pcar, expect to drop 20-25 large. and that is with a car that makes about 450 off the showroom floor. I mean, come on, these guys get 2 grand for HEADERS! [not from me mind you- I polished my own and they flow fine thank you].
Thanks again everybody!
