New old person
Hey I joined awhile ago and just got confused with the site I guess and stopped talking on it unless I needed something. I usually talk on clevelandracing.com but decided I'm sick of being attacked everytime I post anything so I'll give this another go. I'm friends with Estraw and Woody if their still on here. My name is Ashley, I've got a 98 Eclipse GS-T with a shinynew built6 bolt with forged internals in it and will be putting a huggeee turbo on it once I get the money to make a manifold. My boyfriend is a fabricator and does manifolds, exhausts, turbo setups, fuel systems etc. if you live in the Cleveland/Medina area.
My mods:
3 inch turbo-back custom exhaust - KMC Fabrications, my boyfriend's shop
Cutom painted NOM front mount intercooler - haha i love it because you hate it
rebuild 6 bolt engine, all new internals, remachined block
wiesco pistons & eagle rods
Brian Crower 272/272 cams
centerforce clutch
ported rebuilt 14B turbo - I have a holset HX35 [pictured below] but need a manifold for it
Walbro 255lphfuel pump
1200cc injectors
DSMLink
and exterior junk I have a front lip that isn't on it right now but I'll be putting it back on once I get it repainted. I also have angel eye projector headlights. I guarentee I've got the only 2g with an ooga horn as well as sirens, a P.A. system, animal noises, and ice cream music.
my engine bay was just redone, and there is no rust on the front half of the car [no cancer strut towers]. i also am replacing my rusty hatch. the core support was also cut out and replaced. My battery is also relocated into my trunk. my future plans are to get new tires or slicks for the front, new rims, better suspension, make a manifold for my turbo, get new carpet, redo the interior, get a better transmission, and redo all of my brake lines. I've only raced it at the track 3 times, and broke something every single time lol. The last time I went, my number was 666 and my boyfriend raced it and threw a rod through the block. My last run before that happend was a 14.1 at 106mph on pump gas.I need to learn how to get off the line in the car [FWD lameness]. Hopefully with the new engine and clutch, takingmy subs outand possibly gettingtires soon, I'll improve my horrible 2.3 60 foot time and actually break into low 13s.
Here are some pics:

^this is a photoshopped copy of the car with the front mount, it wasn't in yet and i didn't take any new pictures. the front lip isn't on it anymore, but once it's on and everything is clean i'll have more i'm sure.

Holset HX35 - I'm hoping to make around 500whp on race gas with it.

6 bolt swap

eagle rods & wiesco pistons

brian crower 272/272 cams.. goodbye idle
that's all. hopefully this forum will be cooler than the other one =]

GST with 87k on it from a dealer - $5800
GSX with 120k on it from a private seller [average and in ohio] - $10,000
I wanted a black one with 97-99 body style, either way, it sucks that I can't launch the thing, but i guessi'd rather trap higher and have a slower time. GSX's are heavy.

Yes, welcome..back. You can definitley get 500whp with that Holset.
BTW, it's not difficult to convert your GST into a GSX if you wanted to. In your case, there's justification in doing the swap, otherwise, I'd say just buy one, lol. They are heavier, but not that heavy. The AWD makes up for the weight in terms of times on the track. IMO, the best thing about AWD is that you race anytime and anywhere...without slicks. The best thing about 2WD is there isn't the drivetrain drag. There's fractions of a second that an AWD drivetrain losses because of drag. So, if you want an interstate or roll queen, go with a 2WD car and if you want an anytime, anyday, and any weather car, go with an AWD.
