Welcome.
Yes, your 03 Galant is a better car than a 98 Accord.
Just change your timing belt every 60k miles, and keep up on all your maintenance (oil changes, tranny flush, tire rotations, belts and hoses, etc.) and you'll have the car for many miles.

Smile Hello, I'm new to the forum

Hello, I'm new here can anyone direct me to an area I can find out if the 1994 Eclipse with the 1.8L engine is non interference This car is new to me by one week and just snapped the timing belt. Coasted to a stop so not feeling like anything interfered but have little knowledge of this perticular car and engine.
The car has 194,000 mile on odometer runs great has some lifter noise when it was running and has manual 5 speed. I like the car but now am worried about interference and non interference after reading a number of mitsubishi's being interference engines except for the 1.8 I need some clarification on the matter.
