16g turbo question
I own a 99 eclipse gst and i jsut replaced the broken stock t25 with a mhi 16g turbo. car runs fine now except when i decided to floor it. it then threw a p301 code which stood for cylindar one misfire. I asked a friend for advice and he informed me that when you introduce a turbo of larger size than the original the car needs to be tuned again. I was wondering if that is the case or if i should be more concerned about something else.

RE: 16g turbo question
Your car can tune itself out of it.
Remove the battery for 5 mins, turn the ignition on to drain any excess power. Then when u put the battery back drive the car around so it can learn how to idle an stuff. It might stall... just be patient

RE: 16g turbo question
a 16g is a good replacement and also has the capabilities to make around 350whp with proper setup (injectors, fmic, piping, bov, boost controller, boost gauge, fuel pump, fpr, tuning device, tune). it is also just a good turbo to haveas a replacement b/c it will run more efficient. with a new turbo you may want to invest in a turbo timer so that you don't burn the life away fromt he turbo. you can get them used for like 50 bucks these days and they are VERY simple to install.
