Default boost issues

okay i finally got a bov that works now i'm having an issue w/ boost control when i'm cruising in fourth gear at 2000 rmps and put the pedal to the floor my boost guage shoots all the way up to 25psi then settles at 15 lbs which is my target boost , my question is should that be happening i have my manual boost controller turned all the way down ,the reason i ask is i don,y want to end up hurting the motor or the turbo?

Your wastegate is prolly crap.. Its not good if your motor is going that high... But once you go over 19-20 psi you should be feeling fuel cut... (If your running stock setup)

Start by first making sure your boost guage is still hooked up correctly, then check to make sure you MBC is hooked up correctly. Im willing to bet its one of those two things. If not then i guess it could be the wastegate
