Yes you need the bung because it is a o2 sensor that gives the reading to the gauge, My downpipe had an extra bung already. This gauge comes with one so all you do it take it to a muffler shop and have them drill a hole out and weld it into the downpipe for you. Then you run the wires for it and plug in the o2 sensor and your all set

Alright. One question. I am planning on buying a downpipe. So should I wait to get that downpipe first and then buy that wideband? But then again, I will be purchasing that 16G turbo first. So in other words, I am going to need to tune my turbo. What do you suggest?

Hey guys, I keep reading stuff from a while back and I keep bringing it up. Sorry I just have one question. I know the wideband connects to downpipe. But I need someone to make that hole to connect the wideband... i think thats right. Correct me if I am wrong. But I saw this one, but it doesnt come with a guage. Do I need a guage in order to tune my car? Or can I use this one?

that is fine, the box is a digital display, mine is just the same except shaped like a gauge. Some people like the guage better others like the box
