My older brother is Going to buy a Dodge Challenger 6.1L Hemi 6 Speed in 2008 when it is released. We were having a debate as to wether or not i would beat him in a 1/4 mile with my talon Whe i brought up the fact that stock for stock my money would be on an Evo IX against his car. He was arguing that he would be better in the quarter mile cause the evo wouldnt have enough top end power. Obviosly the Evo would beat him off the line but how would it do in an actual race? Brakes are more effective than the original - stopping from 60 mph can be done in 133 feet.


Also if anybody would like to give an opinion as to how i would fair against him in my talon

i think boost would get him. the challenger would prolly loose

 

I know the Evo would win in handling and braking but I'm not sure about 0-60 and quarter mile. The Challenger has pretty good numbers. I believe the Evo IX would need some mods to beat him. Much of this race would be based on the driver. Let's remember 0-60 and quarter mile times though. When the Challenger comes out we'll see what the "official times" are.

 

EVO will own the 0-60 easily. AWD=Traction

 

It'll be a good race, no doubt there. In a 1/4 drag with the mods you've listed for your car, it's going to be pretty close, whoever has the best RT will take it.

 

Im thinking that if i launch it with the AWD i should have a decent chance. My only worry is the 2nd half cause of his 400+ hp

 

if you can keep your car on high rpms and your boost going you may have a chance off the line you would take him...buy i would say half track he would take you and prolly win by 2 cars

400+hp vs. ~250hp

 

4000LBS vs 3200LBS poweer to weight. traction and driver all will help.

 

well im 150lbs and the soon to be challenger owner is 350lb

 

driver weight is so minute it doesnt make a diff really.....
