2nd Rx-7? Maybe...
Well hey guys, i think i am leaving the "DSM world." Hope i didnt break anyones heart. LOL! Well, I am considering a 2nd gen Rx7 a buddy of mine has. I have known him for years, and his cousin is actually selling it. He said he babied that car so much, and I dont doubt it. Its N/A though, but if i buy it he will give me the turbo setup too. The only thing he needed was a manifold and wastegate to turbo it. But anyway, I was wandering what you guys thought about it.
PICS:

Let me know what you guys think about it. And if you have any knowledge about them, let me know what are common problems with them, what to look for, etc. I have heard about the Apex seals, now this one has supposebly 3mm apex seals (upgraded) So let me know what you guys think abou it. Emonz i heard you knew some stuff on this..... please "dig" in.

Be sure you have a qualified GOOD mechanic nearby that specializes in rotary engines. As soon as you turbo that NA, its bound to have problems sooner or later, and rotarys arent simple to fix [sm=yeahsmile.gif]

rotarys arent the best platform for a motor imo....drop an LS1 in it...its been done over and over again but its still bitch.

oh and for the record this car is not called a gen 2 it is called FC and the gen 3 is an FD
just out of curiosity, how much is he asking for it. And having apex seals is definetly a start, but like emonz said the motors are known to not last very long, and they have **** for low end torque. They can be very quick cars however. If it were me i wouldnt want one. If i were to go with an older style car like that then i would have gone with an MKIII supra. But thats me. And it seems hes kept it up well. But just do your homework on them. Research on how the motors work, ect. so you know what your dealing with
