Default hey guys

i havent posted much latley, i been side tracked with other stuffs... but i gotta ask yall a question

as most of you know, my engine blew... i can get the pics if you havent seen them, let me know... well, it was the rod bearings and what i thought was a balance shaft bearing, but someone told me the 1.8 dont have balance shafts in them... but... what i was wondering... since when them bearing blew the engine just locked up.. would i be able to have a reliable car if i just replaced the bearings and piston rings?? because i really cannot afford much and i need a car for college in june... please let me know, im startin to get scared i wont make it to college

thanks

lol cool, i was just checkin... so i will be able to change the bearings, let it run at idle for a while because it has been oil-less for quite some time, and i should be ok?? i hope so.. i was checkin cuz if you said no i was gonna get it runnin and sell it to someone so its their problem

Its really hard to say. No oil = spun bearings... without taking a look at the crank its hard to tell. I would pull the oil pan and see the damage. Look for heat scoring etc...

A bottom end rebuild is an option assuming there is no damage to the crankshaft, rods, crank journals, piston rods, and cylinder walls.
