i have came to the conclusion (trusting you guys) that it is safe to just replace bearings (im gonna to the cam bearings too incase metal got up there which i doubt) and imma try that and hope it will get me to college.. i like the car, i just hope it dont break down

Like what everyone else said as long as there is no damage to the journals and cylinder walls you should be all right replacing the bearings and rings.

well to the plain eye the crank journals look fine, im thinkin about just taking it to a machine shop, having it all shaved down and getting oversized bearings.. or... i might just get a engine from a junk yard and put all my good, new parts on it..

It all comes down to making sure the crank is good. If you dont know well enough on your own i would bring it to someone that can tell you if its still good. If your engine totally seized them im gonna say that i cant see the crank being in great shape.

yea it totally seized..

i got a question.. does the 1.8L have a balance shaft?? someone told me it dont but someone else said it does... if it dont.. im not sure what this other bearing is that i found in the bottom of my oil pan
