Long time no see?
Yeah sorry I have been away for so long. My computer decided to take a dump on me, and my school blocked MF, so now I have almost no way of getting online. I thought about playing dead and getting someone to post about it lol, but that would be a pain in the ***, and my cover would be blown way too easy lol.
A few things have happend since then. I have been accepted to UT Austin (GO LONGHORNS!), and I will be starting there in the fall going for pre med. I am just hoping that when the financial aid **** goes through that I can get a full ride. Who knows, we will see.
In case anyone is wondering, I don't have a car as of yet. I simply have no money. I have the papers now though. Basically I am looking at an 07 Mazdaspeed3 with 30k ish miles for mid teens. Yes I know it is FWD and it is Mazda, but nobody has anything negative to say about it. I did a little research and found out that the only weak part is the rear engine mount, surprise it is a Ford part. I mean, with 264hp and 280tq, how can anyone complain? The car is said to have awesome handling, and pretty decent acceleration. It has been dubbed the STi killer. Too bad it was not AWD, or the car would be perfect. Hopefully it will all come together sooner rather than later. As of late June will be on my own in an appartment in Austin. Screw living on campus.
I have also been having fun with dealerships. A good friend of mine is looking to buy a car and she knows absolutly nothing about cars, so I have been doing all the test driving and inspecting. So far I have driven a Mazda3, Mazda6, Infiniti G35 Coupe, Eclipse GS, Eclipse GT. All manual transmission and only a couple years old. I have to say I was extremely disappointed with the Eclipse GS I saw. The car was only an 07 with 32k on it, yet it looked and drove like a 100k car. The clutch was light and spongey (probably previous owner) the shift boot looked ugly with the leader torn, and the top was torn too. There was also the sensor for the top was broken so it beeped every time you went 5mph to tell you the top was unhooked (and it was). Ergh, I hated that car. I was most impressed with the Mazda3/6. It was pretty slow (The same 2.3L engine), but felt crisp and solid. The G35 was just me dicking around. I drove my brothers a few years ago, and wanted to drive one again : ) I was super shocked when everyone let me drive their cars. I thought I would get a nice HEEELLL no.... but that wasn't the case. Cool eh?
So how is everyone? What have I missed? I hope you are all well etc... and all that good ****.
Happy Holidays!!

Welcome back, my buddy has an 08 Mazda speed 3 and loves it. Stock they arnt bad, the best mod so far "that I've read abt" is a full exhaust. The stocker is just super restrictive and has like 3 or 4 cats (cant remember). Overall its a pertty nice car w/ a lot of options.
Yeah I will only be able to afford a stripped out one, but hey, I don't need the options : )
I heard about something insane like 64whp coming from just a tune. I wonder if an exhaust would void warranty. I hear that as long as the dealer installs approved modifications you can retain the warranty. That is kinda lame, but I have already made VERY friendly with the local dealership and they said they would let it slide. However, I will be living in Austin not San Antonio, so I guess that is irrelevant. Does your friend have any issues with it?

His car is stock for now and I keep telling him to get an exhaust but he's worried abt voiding his warranty too. I can hook him up b/c the ford dealer I work for the service manager is also the service manager for the mazda store too and she's pretty cool abt stuff like that. Ford is pretty passive when it comes to mods as long as its not turbo charged or supercharged its usually covered.
Man I can't wait. I want to get a set of black TE-37's with a red stripe. Perhaps some Work Emotion CR KAi in the same color scheme. Eh, all in good time. Gotta have the car first right?
tell your friend to stop being a puss, If your gonna tremble over loosing a warrenty from an exhaust then you should be buying a tuner car period! Exhaust is a simple 30min to an hour install off and on. you break a part you can easily slap the old one back on in no time flat, so where is the issue? If you guys really thing a simple exhaust is going to cause somthing to break you are off your rockers lol. Mitsu is much worse with vioding warrenties than anyone else and how many evos out there have stock exhaust?
And seb as for the power from a tune that is hardly that crazy these days. Evos do just as well from a simple quick flash. Stock turbo cars now a days seem to be running stupid rich
