Wow this is retarded. Street racing is illegal and a dumb idea. Especially any organized street racing. Ill admit every now and again i might do a highway pull. But racing from a stop light or where a group of people are around is retarded.

And sebba i gaurentee its a hellova lot more than 4 people per year in the US. I remember just in my town we had at least 2 people in a year. and that is just a small town in mass. So i dont know where your getting your statistics

 

not to mention there have been 2 Evo crashes on Evo M one of which killed 4 people itself.

I will admit i have raced once or twice too, but there is a big difference where i am located, in a town of 2000-ish people there isn't alot of people out, and we dont just set up anywhere and go at it. We get rolling starts on Empty country roads. Never had one bad expirence with it. So i really dont have a huge problem with it. But i see where you guys are coming from too about "mobs" of people just flying through Largly populated cities just for a few ooohs and aaahs. that **** is just dumb.

 

Yeah I also found a site with stats that said "As recently as 2002 San Diego suffered the devastation of 16 deaths and 31 serious injuries as a direct result of illegal street racing activity", PLUS my senior year of high school we had 3 kids die in street racing accidents.. it was AWFUL! It affected the whole school even if we didn't know the kids.. and we live in the "country" so there aren't alot of people just trees and brick walls.. it's NOT safe. keep it on the track imo.

 

oh here's another interesting fact " When these 2002 data were converted to a combined mortality/morbidity incidence rate, we were faced with the fact that for every 1,000 young people who choose to illegal street race in our community, 49 were either killed or seriously injured."

 

Deaths from street racing are very small. Road deaths in generai from speeding DOES NOT count.

I DO NOT and WILL NOT race my Eclipse..mine will be built to run however andit costs way to much if you break or damage sh!tbut street racing is stupid and you get nothing but maybe bragging rights from it..if you wantto race and get something out of it then go on Pinks and race for titles or on AllOut and race for money on the drag strip..."Give me 30 lengths!" LOL.
