Came across these shots. Its a limited edition Turbo model, they only made a handfull for the government.

For those in the states that think these look familar...it's badged the Diamante here.
I couldn't find the turbo part, unless "VR" means that it's turbo there. Then again, if it's a limited edition made for the police, Mitsu may not have spoken of it.
I did find that AWD models were used by the NSW police...
Could that be what you have linked, RayStevens?

Ray, in that last pic you posted, it looks like there are letters above the fender turn signal/parking lights that are about the same spacing as the Verada's "AWD" letters and spacing. I'm just noting

The VR AWD model was used by the New South Wales police force, particularly in the Sydney region, until 2005.
