Default Powershifting...... good?

All right so, a friend of mine is REALLLY a fan of this guy who drives an Integra (no ricer, ALL stock, forged interns, just a small reflective club decal on a window) and he of course being in that state lent the RS' wheel to him, about 10 minutes back he cams telling me how he could pull out extra speed on it blha blah, so he goes ahead and tries it on his own, he comes back and the clutch grinds on 2nd and 3rd gear... putting aside the facts that these are an integra and an RS (this means ignore :P)i wonder 2 things...

What the hell happend to his tranny? did he ****ed it up or does it just need an adjustment?

Is powershifting really that good? is it not hurtful at all to the car if done correctly? cuz to me it sounds D.U.M.B somehow

I don't think it is good, quite the opposite really. Sure it will shave a fraction of time off a timeslip, all too often people end up with a notchy, jacked up tranny...just like your friend.

Congrats... the tranny is fuuuukt lol

I have seen videos of honda boys doing this... never ends pretty.

You want a chellenge? Try flat shifting. Thats without using the clutch.

Actually thats what im referring to haha, i thought the name of forcing the gears was powershifting, and i quite could do it on the gti when i had it, it had a strong tranny and of course i did it at small speed and releasing the gas for every shift...

Powershifting is without lifting the gas.... flat shifting is without depressing the clutch

both sound equally destructive if you don't nail it.

Yeah but to nail it seems to be the prob... i remember the rabbit wouldnt let you shift without the clutch if it wasnt at like 3.8k, i dunno how they do it @ high revs or near red line, destructive indeed.... for now i wanna know what the heck happened to the clutch, i crack up everytime i hear the grind on each shift hahaha

ALL stock, forged internals
That makes no sense.
