no? it's easier to control an auto cause of it's consistency in shifts, plus you loose less boost with the way it shifts, plus it's less of a pain in the *** to daily drive

 

Ok so.... so for a turboed car auto is better? cuz as far as i know.... on a na auto sucks major *****. =/

 

It depends on how much you are pushing. For a N/A car manual is faster but after you get so much power the shifting speed and consistency of the auto wins over.

Emonz I would pick up that supra especially if it is a good price that thing is MONEY! It is so clean!

 

its not necessarily that its cause of the fact its n/a, its got to do with the transmission itself. you can have a really powerful car and a ****ty transmission and you will still be slow. but if you have a really good trans and a lot of power (reguardless of how that powers made) your cars gonna be a beast. sure having an automatic helps keep the turbo spooled, but thats only a small part of the whole thing

 

Ohhh ok... i see.... thnx guys.. plus, for a dd or cruising around car... is better to not have a rough manual... i like that supra as well.... very effing clean

 

although you can argue that having a manual is better for gas mileage... but i dont think that's why mike's buying the supra

 

haha yeah, and actually a lot of the newer autos are getting better gas milage than manuals!

 

The supra autos are much faster than the 6spds in a drag. the 6spds have higher top end (over 200MPH with the HP to make it go there, when the hell am I gonna do that) The 6spds also can crankwalk. The difference in the autos is not the fast it holds boost it more has to do with the gearing in the tranny. Of course there is more powerloss in an auto but they will still be faster than a 6spd with equal mods.

Maybe another factor. 6spds are just plain worth alot more they hold value higher, but in order for me to pick up one that is in the shape I want ill be spending $30-$35k on the damn car being stockish and that maybe means 70k miles or so. Where as the one I posted the pics of here is $28k obo and has mods setup for high HP with some minor things added. The tranny is aready built by boost logic with a 3800 hi stall and cooling fans. The motor has alot of great mods. and it is clean as hell. there is a 97 with 40k auto for sale I can pic up for the same price as a 100k mile 6 spd. Then there is a green 97 auto ith 125k on it I can pick up in cash lol.

 

wow that auto is SEXY!!! I would jump all over that if I were you! Man it is insanely clean. And that color is just WOW. Yeah emonz that should most def be your new car!!
