Yes, it is true that us SO Cal people call it "the 8" "the 5", However, if you drive about 6 hours north on "the 5/Highway 5" and get into NOR cal, they don't call it "the...". so there ya go, a little Cali lesson.
also, Nor Cal says "Hella", So Cal don't.
