Ok at Best Buy there is two guys that work there with my girlfriend one has a WRX STI and the other has an Evo 8. Both are equally modded with such things as exhaust and intake and such, I don't think they have upgraded the turbos. Both think their car is better than the other, I was wondering over all, not just in a drag race which car is the best, now no bias since this is a mits website lol.

well there is different ways to compare these cars (handling, looks, interior, hp, 1/4 times, ect.) But i bet you truthfully if your were to give a grade on each component, the evo would win hands down. And thats not really being to bias, its just fact. For instance

Handling = Evo by far
Interior = Evo
Engine = Evo can handle alot more on the stock block
1/4 mile = STI stock vs stock
Exterior = well this is kinda opinion but i think evo
Drivetrain = I know evos can have weak t-cases. And i think the STI's have crappy transmissions or somethnig like that so i guess this might be a wash

 

both of these are not true... the EVO as of 2005 is faster in the 1/4 mile stock for stock. EVOs of all years make faster times and more HP with mods than STis do with the same mods. and the T case in teh EVO is not weak john when was the last time your heard of someone breakin one?? they break due to driver style from a launch not from being weak cause if driven the way they were ment to be then they can handle ALOT of power. and 10 sec passes

this is true about the transmissions. my friend has one and while driving it on to the pkwy, mind you the car was only a week old at the time, the transmission broke. he said he didn't have 3rd gear or something. sucks for him bc those cost BIG$$$$$$$$$$$.

[/quote] the trannys are not that weak they have bad syncros in the first batch of 03s for the EVOs. other than that some do go bad in break in period but most are 100% fine. Judging on one car is not the same for all of them obviously and both of these cars zipp into gears kinda feels like a grind. Im not sure if your talking EVO or STi. The STi tranny is not all that bad. the WRX is the weak one

 

Thanks guys for all the imput, getting info here your going to get the real facts not what some some company says or what not. Almost like a road and driver test run article where they take a couple of cars with similar specs. Gets beyond the details besides just shear hp and actually tells you tru performance.
