Piece of Plastic got stuck inside Fuel Filler?
I own a 2000 Mitsubishi eclipse, and last night, I ran out of gas so a friend and I tried to put gas in manually,( Like without a gas station lol) so we put this cone things with a long plastic hose inside the fuel filler, and the plastic hose at the end of the cone got stuck inside where you fill your tank up at. We accendently pushed it down more by trying to pull it out, and now it down in there. I drove it home, and it was smoking and smelled like gas the whole way home. About 15 miles? Idk.
So basically there is plastic stuck in my gas tank! Help, please tell me what will happen to my car. Is it okay to drive?

As long as you can put the gas tank cap on, you should be OK. It will not do anything to harm the vehicle. You may run into some issues later when you are trying to fill up at the gas station - since you have a foreign object in the filler tube, the flow from the filler to the tank may be reduced somewhat and the pump will be clicking out before the tank is full. You may need to eventually look into disconnecting the filler hose and trying to fish out the offending tube.
